Alpine dolomite paths: multi-day tours

Alpine Dolomites Hiking Path No. 1
Point of departure: Braies Lake (1,494 m)
End: Belluno (389 m)
Characteristic: This alpine path leads along the north-south route through the eastern Dolomites. During the course of the hike you will get to know interesting areas of the eastern Dolomites. The main route leads along an average height of 2,000 m - so you have to expect high-alpine conditions. With the exception of the last sections, which can be bypassed on an easier path, experienced hikers will have no difficulties.

Alpine Dolomites Hiking Path No. 3
Point of departure: Dobbiaco - Rienza part of the village (1,243 m)
End: Longarone (474 m)
Characteristic: Just like paths no. 1, 4 and 5, this alpine path leads through the eastern Dolomites and offers a great view of high alpine mountains during the entire crossing. Compared to alpine paths no. 1 and 2, most sections are either more difficult, longer or more demanding. In addition to the considerable differences in altitude within the single sections, the route also features secured, and sometimes very exposed climbing facilities and short climbing passages with a level of difficulty up to II. Easier variations are planned for these sections.

Alpine Dolomites Hiking Path No. 4
Point of departure: San Candido (1,173 m)
End: Pieve di Cadore (878 m)
Characteristic: This path leads through the imposing rock reign of the Sesto Dolomites and the splendid Dolomiti massifs Sorapis and Antelao. This route is recommended for experienced mountaineers only. Numerous sections lead along secured fixed-aid climbs amidst steep walls, and many easier climbing passages are present. Despite its difficulty, path no. 4 is not overly demanding, since the path is located above the treeline for the most part and it does not feature huge differences in altitude.

Alpine Dolomites Hiking Path No. 5
Point of departure: Sesto (1,317 m)
End: Pieve di Cadore (878 m)
Characteristic: This path is very demanding and therefore only recommended for trained hikers with a secure step and more importantly sufficient stamina. From a landscape point of view, this alpine path is not as closed off as path no. 4 for example. However, the path leads through very wild areas like the Sesto Dolomites, which provide a highlight from a landscape point of view.
