Winter hiking in the surrounding areas of Sesto
Val Campo di Dentro - Tre Scarperi Hut
Comfortable hike amidst the unique Sesto Dolomites Nature Park.
Walking time: 1 h 45 min.
Monte Elmo winter hike from hut to hut
Easy hike along the sunny slope of the Monte Elmo Mountain, past alpine forests with a beautiful view of the Sesto Sundial.

Winter hiking in the surrounding areas of San Candido
Stauderhof Guesthouse (1,437 m)
At the north-eastern edge of San Candido (railway subway) you get to hiking path no. 3 via the Via Kranzhof path. Path no. 3 with medium gradient leads to Stauderhof. Return options are the Monte San Candido path or the Via Kranzhof path. From the "Mehlhof" west of Stauderhof you have a splendid view of the Three Peaks.

Alpine path to Dobbiaco (1,337 m)
At the western edge of San Candido, right at the Esso garage, path no. 26 leads past Val Castello to Schopfenhof (1,337 m). The path has a medium gradient. Now the path becomes flat and leads over the Costanosellari and past several farms to Dobbiaco.
Walking time: 2 hours
Hiking path to Versciaco (1,154 m)
At the eastern edge of San Candido (Hotel Villa Stefania or Hotel Brandl) the path leads along the Drava River to Versciaco (2.5 km).
Walking time: 40 minutes
Hiking path to Prato Drava (1,131 m)
Upon arrival in Versciaco (as described above), after the railway subway near the car park of the Monte Elmo cable cars, the Via Giovo road leads to the farms at Monte Versciaco. After a half hour walk you reach the fork to Prato Drava. On the Via S. Nicoló path going past the parish church you get to Prato Drava.

Gustav Mahler Round Tour
Car park at Rienza ski lift - Carbonin Vecchia - Via Rienza road - car park at Rienza ski lift (3.3 km). The Gustav Mahler rooms and the Gustav Mahler composer house can be viewed in Carbonin Vecchia.

Village path from Dobbiaco Vecchia to Dobbiaco Nuova
Parish church in Dobbiaco Vecchia - Via Tiefen - Säghäuser - Dobbiaco Lake (4.2 km). In Dobbiaco Vecchia you can view historic buildings like the baroque parish church or Herbst Castle. In Dobbiaco Nuova you can visit the Grand Hotel. In ancient years, the European aristocracy and rich nobility stayed here.

Ponticello - Prato Piazza - Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park
Point of departure: Ponticello (1,500 m)
Walking time: 1 1/2 hours
Highest spot: Prato Piazza (2,000 m)
Difference in altitude: 500 m
Level of difficulty medium - some stamina required
Route description: Easy hike to one of the most beautiful alpine plateaus in South Tyrol amidst the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. From Ponticello (car park) for ½ km along the road and then along the winter hiking path. The last section leads along the road to the alpine plateau. Once at the plateau the alpine guesthouse invites you to come in.
On the sunny side of Braies to the Moserhof guesthouse
Point of departure: Ferrara (1,222 m) or S. Vito (1,340 m)
Walking time: 1 hour respectively
Highest spot: Moserhof (1,435 m)
Difference in altitude: between 100 and 210 m
Level of difficulty: easy
Route description: When the sun barely comes out for two months in the village of Ferrara and hides behind the vast mountain massif of the Sasso del Signore Mountain, the farms just above the village enjoy the bright sunshine. Enjoy the extended view of the Braies Valley during a hike along the sunny side of the village. Starting in Ferrara or S. Vito you follow the road leading to the highest farms in the village. The Moserhof guesthouse awaits you - warm up in the cosy rooms and taste some regional specialities.
