Dobbiaco: high culture, beautiful churches
Without doubt, the parish church in Dobbiaco is one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in the entire Puster Valley. Today's Baroque church was built from 1764 to 1774 initially on the foundations of a Roman and then a Gothic church (planning and construction management by Rudolph Schraffl from Toblach). The 76 m long church tower, located north-west of the main nave, was completed in 1804.
Visiting times: daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Parish Church in Valle San Silvestro, Pilgrimage Chapel in Santa Maria
The church in San Silvestro dates back to the 14th or 15th century and is devoted to S. Nicoló, the patron saint against flooding and avalanches. In fact, overflowing of the Silvestro River took place in 1823, 1857 and 1882 and resulted in considerable damage.
Visiting times: daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The renowned Santa Maria pilgrim was first mentioned during the first half of the 14th century. Since the former church was too small for the flourishing place of pilgrimage, a Gothic church was constructed around 1470. The Gothic middle relief and the side statues are also remarkable.
Visiting times: daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The first of five chapels devoted to the Passion of Christ is located at the southern entrance to the cemetery. The five chapels can be seen along the Via Maximilian road. The five wayside shrines with scenes from the Passion of Christ date back to 1519. Together with the former "Görz" chapel in the parish church and the round chapel in Lerschach they form the so-called "Calvary Mountain" pilgrimage path.
The age of the "Alte Kirchl" (old chapel) from Franadega can not be specified. However, it could be one of the so-called "Peststöckel", which were realised in memory of the plague (in 1564 the region was ravaged by the plague).

The Path of Reflection and the San Pietro in Monte Chapel
From the pilgrimage chapel in Santa Maria the newly laid out (1996) Path of Reflection leads along several stations to the oldest religious sanctuary in Alta Pusteria: San Pietro in Monte. The single stations show stone works with biblical representations and pictures.
