Dobbiaco - from the settlement to date

The settlement of Dobbiaco began during the Hallstatt period. The first mention was in 827. Important for the evolution was the trade channel Strada d'Alemagna, which is bending here from the Pusteria valley to the valley of Landro and connected the important commercial center Venice and Augsburg.

Based on the allotment of the Pusteria valley with the railway in 1871, Dobbiaco became more important for the tourism.
