Cross-country skiing by night
From Christmas the cross-country tracks at the Nordic Arena of Dobbiaco are illuminated by floodlight daily from 6 to 8 p.m. So you can enjoy the cross-country skiing also in the evening!
Skitrain: from the Alta Pusteria to the ski-region Kronplatz
Every half an hour you reach the ski-region Kronplatz by the new ski-train directly from Dobbiaco in only 20 minutes!

Winter in Dobbiaco: The place for connoisseurs
What else could an athlete's heart long for: perfectly groomed slopes, traditional huts, first-class cross-country tracks with the Fis-slopes at the new center of cross-country-ski "Nordic Arena" with different levels of difficulty, comfortable snow-shoe hikes, romantic outings on horse-drawn sleighs to the Dobbiaco Lake, accessible hiking paths also in winter - the village of the Three Peaks really has a lot to offer.
The Tour de Ski

In 2012, Dobbiaco is again to host three days of the "Tour de Ski". There will be two World Cup races each for men and women in the cross-country skiing discipline. The best cross-country skiers in the world will meet here to take part in the "Tour de Ski" - the toughest cross-country stage race in the world. All races can be followed free of charge in the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco.

36. Pustertal Valley Ski Marathon
14. - 15.01.2012
With its long tradition, the Pustertal valley ski marathon is one of the most renowned cross-country races in Europe, becoming more an more popular each year with both professional and amateur athletes. The skating-style competition takes place on Saturday, 14th January and will take you 28 km from Dobbiaco to Braies. The marathon itself, covering 42 km, is a classical-style race and will take place on Sunday, 15th January on the stretch from Dobbiaco to Sesto.

For one whole week, dozens of hot-air ballons will transform the Alta Pusteria valley into a colourful fairytale landscape. Witness balloons gliding silently through the air around you as you view the miniature landscape down below - world-famous peaks such as the Three Peaks will sem near enough to touch!

35th Cross-country skiing race Dobbiaco - Cortina 04. - 05.02.2012
This cross-country race meet is an absolute must for all cross-country enthusiasts both here and abroad. The course follows the old railway line that used to link the villages of Dobbiaco and Cortina. For the athletes there are two distances to choose from: the freestyle race over 30 km on Saturday, from Fiames to Dobbiaco; and the race over 42 km in classical style on Sunday, from Dobbiaco to Cortina d'Ampezzo.
7 ski resorts in the Alta Pusteria valley, snow guaranteed
Alta Pusteria features a total of 28 cable car systems (1 cable car, 3 single-cable cars, 1 chair lift with weather protection bubbles, 5 chair lifts and 18 ski lifts), and 55 km of slopes. For the daily-tour "Giro delle Cime" you've to master 10.000 m altitude difference on 30 km downhill-slopes. The Alta Pusteria ski resort is part of the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel with a total of 450 cable cars and 1,220 km of slopes.
Nordic Arena Dobbiaco
This modern stadium offers for Dobbiaco a lot of new sportive activities. In the summertime the cross-country-ski-slopes are exchanged by the Corse of Roller skating. The highest climbing-hall of Italy is the highlight of the sport complex. Every year the worldcup of cross-country Tour de Ski comes to Dobbiaco and all the competitions you can see at the stadium.
