Round Tour of the Three Peaks
Point of departure: Auronzo Hut (2,320 m)
Walking time: 4 hours
Requirements: stamina required; slightly demanding
Sightseeing: view of the world-renowned Three Peaks
Possible stops: Locatelli Hut, Auronzo Hut, Lavaredo Hut, "Lange Alpe" Hut
From the Auronzo Hut along the southern side of the Three Peaks and along path no. 101, past the Lavaredo Hut (2,344 m) and on a slight ascent to Forcella Lavaredo (2,454 m). First, a splendid view of the 500 m high north walls of the Three Peaks (up to here also for untrained hikers). Slight downhill gradient to the fork:
a) easy ascent to Locatelli Hut (2,405 m)
b) continuing downwards to the left after sign-post no. 105 you soon get to path no. 102, coming up from the Rienza Valley. Via path no. 105 (left) slightly ascending to the "Lange Alpe" Hut and past the Lang-Alpe Lake and hiking around the Three Peaks to the west and to the Auronzo Hut.

Corno di Fana Dobbiaco
(2,663 m)
Due to the special position between the Central Alps and the Dolomites a very popular panoramic mountain.
Point of departure: Candelle harbour, Valle San Silvestro, 1,600 m
Difference in altitude: 1,063 m
Sign-post: Ascent no. 25 (via Bonner Hut); descent no. 25° (via the alpine pasture)
Walking time: Ascent 3.5 hours
Requirements: challenging hike
Sightseeing: The round view from the peak of the Corno di Fana
Possible stop: Bonner Hut, Seiterhof in Candelle
After the gate in Candelle on a wide path across the Calvo River and continue to the right until the mountain path starts to the left. Through turns past the public Bonner Hut directly to the summit at 2,663 m.
Ascent via path no. 25 or the pasture (no. 25A) back to the point of departure.

Malga S. Silvestro and S. Silvestro Chapel (1,800 m)
Point of departure: Dobbiaco (1,264 m) or Genziana Hut (Valle S. Silvestro Valley, 1,360 m)
Difference in altitude: 600 m
Sign-post: 1b
Walking time: Ascent 2 - 2.5 hours
Sightseeing: San Silvestro Chapel
Requirements: easy hike (also for trained mountain-bikers)
Possible stop: Malga S. Silvestro Hut
From Dobbiaco on path no. 1B past the San Silvestro and into the Valle San Silvestro Valley (turn right), via a sign-posted path to the Malga San Silvestro Hut and to the San Silvestro Chapel.

Monte Piano
(2,324 m)
Point of departure: Landro Lake in the Val di Landro Valley (1,400 m)
Difference in altitude: 900 m
Walking time: Ascent 3 hours
Requirements: difficult path, only for trained hikers; some parts are exposed; secure step required.
Sightseeing: The open-air museum on the alpine plateau of Monte Piano, which was one of the most important mountain fronts during the years of war between Austria and Italy from 1915 -17.
Possible stops: Bosi Hut
Ascent via the pioneer path no. 6 from Hotel Drei Zinnen or Landro Lake first over a flat valley basin to the north-western foot of the mountain. In serpentines via grooves, a small ravine through a secured rock band and a ridge to a closed-down soldier's cemetery. Then on one of two sign-posted routes up to the alpine plateau and to the southern or northern peak. The left path is a fixed-aid climb of medium difficulty, the right path is rather easy.
Descent on the tourist path no. 6A to Carbonin and along Landro Lake to the point of departure or via Forcella di Castrati to the north on path no. 6 into the Rimbianco Valley. Descending from here in a westerly direction (left) you reach the Rienza Valley, through which you return to the point of departure.
