The water treasures of Dobbiaco
The eight designated water treasures that were envisaged are:
Beautiful lookout point at the outskirts of Dobbiaco with a spring for tasting the two waters of Dobbiaco.
"Dobbiaco - the water divide the heart of Europe". An installation of the artist Ulrich Egger in front of the Gustav Mahler Hall at the Culture Center Grand Hotel Dobbiaco.
The dimension of the Drau. 1 meter of way is 1,4 km of riverflow. After 15 minutes it arrives the Drau spring.
On the 750 km long way to the Donau, the Drau pass 5 european countries. The beginning is at Dobbiaco.
The viewing platform at the western lakeside is an attractive possibility to make a break with view over the wildlife at the Lake of Dobbiaco.
A modern hydraulic power is the electric power station "Schmelze".
The historic smelting furnace at the "Klauskofel" shows, how the people used the power of water in the last centuries.
With stones of the river made Labyrinth in the forest near the Restaurant Genziana with bubbler in the center as power source.
