Nature Park Tre Cime: a very special area amidst the mountains
The Dolomiten Nature Park Drei Zinnen / Tre Cime comprises an area of 11,635 hectares. The nature park extends to the communities of Innichen, Sesto and Toblach. The wonderful natural landscape acts as the north-eastern cornerstone of the Dolomites, and is limited by the Puster Valley to the north, by the Valley of Sesto to the east, by the border to Belluno to the south, and by the Höhlenstein Valley to the west.
Dolomites of Sesto: protected fauna and flora
The Nature Park Drei Zinnen / Tre Cime is part of the Natura 2000 areas. Due to its position and the species living and growing in the park, it enjoys special protection. In the fauna, the Aesculapian snake and the Alpine salamander are protected for example. The varied flora features protected plants like the Dolomites aquilegia or the Devil's claw.
