General description

The hiking trail offers a wonderful view of Dobbiaco and leads past the Leitnstöckl chapel. The chapel is of great historical importance as it is one of the plague sticks and is reminiscent of the time of the Black Death in the Alps. The path leads through Dobbiaco and the sunny faction Wahlen.

Route description

The hike starts at the Dobbiaco/Toblach parish church and continues to the right towards San Silvestro/Wahlen. On the right there is a small path (no. 1) which leads through the woods and along the river to San Silvestro/Wahlen. The road continues a little uphill towards the small hamlet of Valle San Silvestro/Wahlen. From there a panoramic path starts, which leads past the "Leitnstöckl" chapel and back to Dobbiaco/Toblach (path no. 22 and then 41).

A very beautiful hike with an optimal view of Toblach and the Dolomites, but also offers cultural insights, e.g. Leitnstöcklkapelle.
