Attractive fixed-aid climbs in the surrounding areas of Sesto

Alpini path
 
Walking time: 2 1/2 hours to the Elferscharte; from here 1 1/2 hours to the Sentinellascharte; descent to the Berti hut 1 hour; sign-post: red-white-red nr. 101 and nr. 124. The Alpini path is a well preserved path dating back to World War, showing how clever military paths have been laid out. The section between Elferscharte and Sentinellascharte is very icy, hence crampon, ice pick and rope are required.

    Recommendable alpine path for hikers not prone to dizziness and with a secure step.

  • Rotwandwiesen Hut - Elferscharte - Zsigmondy Hut

    High-alpine hike for hikers free of dizziness and with a secure step.
  • Zsigmondy Hut - Hochbrunnerschneide
    Walking time: 3 hours; Difference in altitude: 1,700 m

    Walking time: 7 hours; Difference in altitude: 900 m
    Fixed-aid climb provided with steel ropes and iron ladders for experienced hikers free of dizziness; it is recommended to bring a rope.
  • Bonacossa Path
    Walking time: from Col de Varda Hut 4 hours; Diff. in altitude: 600 m
    Charming alpine hike in the Cadini Mountain Group with several rope and ladder sections for experienced hikers.
  • "Merlone" fixed-aid climb
    Walking time: 1 ½ hours; Difference in altitude: 280 m
    Fixed-aid climb without any technical difficulties for hikers free of dizziness and with a secure step.
